Meet the Professor

Some books are undeservedly forgotten; none are undeservedly remembered. — W.H. Auden

Mrs. B is a retired English professor who taught early literature to students who were more interested in using the ancient tales to create characters for their role playing games than they were in studying great books. Sometimes her students played those games in class, which saddened Mrs. B. She is now happily retired. She no longer thinks about RPGs, no matter how richly developed their characters.

On summer days, Mrs. B can usually be found on her back porch, sipping iced tea and reading science fiction and mysteries. Sometimes there is a cat. When she is not reading, she putters in her gardens and talks to herself about how best to get rid of the deer that have eaten the entirety of her garden, except for the weeds. Her neighbors think her odd, but she prefers to think of herself as eccentric.

This blog celebrates the odd, the eccentric, and the ordinary – in short, life.
